General FAQ
What is FileSafe Backup?
FileSafe Backup is a software and subscription-based service to securely copy and store your data to our remote servers. This protects your data in the case of virus attacks, hacking attempts, human error, natural disaster or device failure.
Who should use FileSafe Backup?
While the FileSafe Backup program works for practically any system, our services are geared for businesses that need secure data storage.
My hard drive just crashed! What do I do?
A data restoration with FileSafe Backup usually just takes minutes. Large amounts of data can take a couple hours depending on your internet connection and how much data you need to restore. You can see the Technical FAQ
for instruction to restore your data.
How does your service compare to other data backup solutions?
FileSafe Backup is a better choice for many companies who realize that their current media backup solution is too hands on to work effectively. FileSafe Backup is also more secure than most backup solutions because your data is encrypted and stored off-site from your location. In the event of a fire or other natural disaster your data is still at risk if your backup is stored in the same building as the computers it is supposed to be protecting.
FileSafe Backup is also a much less expensive alternative than traditional backup solutions coming in at about a third the price. Media backup solutions require hardware replacements about every three years along with constant purchases of new tapes or DVDs. Plus there are the hidden costs of storage and labor.
Ok, but how do you compare with other online backup solutions?
Most online backup solutions are geared for home users and are very limited in the scope they can work with. FileSafe Backup is available for nearly every operating system including Windows, Macintosh, Novell, Unix and Linux.
Also, while researching the competition we noticed that most had very limited services when it comes to space or daily upload amounts. We have no cap on daily uploads and think our packages are pretty generous.
Finally, there is price. We found the average price per gigabyte is over $11. We believe online data storage should be less expensive than traditional data backup solutions and affordable for any business committed to their data security. Our price per gigabyte starts at $1.50 and drops from there based on volume.
At FileSafe Backup, the words "easy to implement" are practically our motto! The software is easy to install and configure. Our technical FAQ
is comprehensive. Our pricing is strait-forward. And the system just works.
